Over 60% of two-wheeler fatalities occur between 10PM and 4AM. The human eye was not designed for the speeds of modern road transport in low-light conditions. Zivv's NightSense system was built to solve this.
The system combines a 77GHz millimetre-wave radar with a long-wave infrared thermal camera and a forward-facing visible-light camera running at 120fps. Data from all three sensors is fused in real-time by an on-board neural processing unit capable of 12 TOPS.
The AI classifies objects by thermal signature: warm-blooded animals and pedestrians glow distinctly against cold asphalt. The system can detect a stationary pedestrian at 80 metres in complete blackout conditions and begin computing brake assist vectors before the rider is even aware of the obstacle.
In testing across 200 night-riding scenarios, NightSense achieved a 99.3% hazard-detection rate. Safety is not a feature. It is the foundation.
